the collection story

The idea came to me on a long drive up the Baja peninsula.
Ideas will do that when we’re internet-less.

I’ve spent years, literally, thinking of ways to combined my artistic mediums. But nothing ever felt RIGHT. It wasn’t until I wasn’t really thinking about it at all that it came to me. Life is like that. The best art is like that. Ideas find us when we’re not looking.

This is a collection of photos I’ve taken in the northwest - printed, matted, framed and adorned with my hand painted lettering. I found frames at antique stores and painted paper with coffee. Theres burn marks and deckled edges and paper that smells like my grandmas house. These pieces are meant to feel timeless. Like the vintage photos of western farmland you find at the thrift stores. It’s horses and rolling hills, mountains and prairies. My hope, of course, is that when you see them you can feel the joy of a day drenched in sunlight and the nostalgic smells of a summer spent out west.

mountain air. cold rivers. dirt. pine.
